Over the years, our charity stall has raised some £17,000 for good causes. At Wakefield 2017 we will again be selling donated goods in aid of Wakefield Hospice, and we will also be accepting mobile phones on behalf of the Hospice. Regrettably, we we cannot accept laser toner or ink-jet cartridges as it is no longer economic for the Hospice to recycle them.
Just bring them along to the show, and hand them over at the Charity stall. Please make sure that the items are securely bagged and clearly labelled, and it would help to include any chargers and accessories, but do remember to remove the SIM card beforehand.
Whilst we welcome donations of goods for sale on the Charity Stall, the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive limits what we can accept, as we would have to pay for the disposal of any unsold large electrical and electronic items like computers, monitors and printers.
Please therefore only bring goods that we will have a realistic chance of selling, and this certainly excludes things like CRT monitors and TVs, old style printers and scanners, plus loose floppy discs.
If you are in any doubt as to the suitability of goods you wish to donate, then please contact the organisers beforehand using the details provided on the Enquiries page of the Show web site.
Computers that are not acceptable can be recycled free of charge (in most cases) at your local council waste disposal site. If not, then consult the Which? guide on how to recycle your old computer – www.which.co.uk.
